Promote Yourself

Do you make amazing clothes for a living? Are you under appreciated in your time too?

YouTube has made stars of previously unknown videographers, directors, writers and actors. Stylastic is here to rescue the fashionistas of our time.

When you upload a photo you have multiple opportunities to promote yourself and your designs.

  • Link back to the site where the original photo was found. If that's your site then GREAT. Are you blogging about fashion? Are you a photographer?
On the photo entry page where you enter the title, description and mapped location of the photo, choose "From another site" on "6. Who is this?" and paste in your link. The photo will keep a link to that page forever, or at least as long as the photo remains on our site. For you bloggers this is also a trackback.

  • Add a link to the page where you can buy your clothing from. If you're an independent designer with an online store, this is a great way to drive traffic to your site and actually make sales. The great thing about Stylastic photography is the presence of context. That's why a photo of Lindsay Lohan passed out in an American Apparel hoodie moved truck loads of American Apparel hoodies.

When you're adding an apparel item to your photos, be sure to paste in a link to your online store where you can buy that apparel item. When that photo shoots up in the ranks of Stylastic you'll be laughin'.

  • If you're a model then, well, Stylastic is a no-brainer. Put your best photography up (be sure to follow our photo guidelines). We're not agents or anything like that, so you have to be able to manage yourself.

How you can earn $$ through Stylastic

We at Stylastic want to allow our users to profit from Stylastic. As Stylastic evolves, you will hear about different ways in which you can use your knowledge of fashion and style to put some cash in your pocket.

Want to start today?
If you know where you can buy a particular item of clothing featured in a photo, there is a place where you can paste in an affiliate link when you're adding items of clothing to a photo. So for example, you see a picture and know that the shirt in the photo is from The Gap. Once you've signed up for The Gap's affiliate program, you can post a link with your affiliate code linking to that shirt on www.gap.com. If a visitor clicks your link and buys that shirt (or anything else), you'll earn 4% commission on the total sale. Cool eh? And that's just the beginning.

Check out The Gap's affiliate program and sign up.
The Gap is just one (maybe bad) example. If you have your own site or blog, we'd recommend that you apply for an account at Commission Junction to set up affiliate links with tons of other stores like Zappos.com, Old Navy, CoutureCandy, Laura Ashley, Oakley, BlueFly and more than 100 other online shops. I'm sure you've heard about how people make a living off of eBay and Google, well now it's your turn to make money off the Internet for your fashion and style knowledge.
